ACCENT Engineering and Construction Inc. is owned by Rodney Thompson a U.S. NAVY veteran and San Diego resident of 30 years. Rod Thompson having over thirty years of extensive firsthand knowledge and experience in the construction industry established Accent Engineering and Construction Inc. 2009, based on a vision to create an exceptional project management firm one that provided superior service to array of clients.
Rod showed an interest in construction at an early age, and completed electrical and mechanical courses in high school at vocational extension programs. Immediately after graduating high school, Rod joined the U.S. NAVY and was stationed in San Diego. While in the NAVY, Rod became an E-5 Petty Officer supervising a production electrical machine shop and completed project construction courses in the U.S. NAVY Class A Service School, After being honorably discharged, Rod obtained his C10 (Electrical), C20 (HVAC) & C36 (plumbing) licenses, and completed his BS degree at Alcorn State University.
Rod accepted a position as the Construction & Project Manager with a membrane technology production & manufacturing firm where after one year Rod obtained his B (General Contractor) License. Rod was soon after named Director of Construction and Plant Director. Rod utilized his Contractors licenses and experience to grow the in house Construction and maintenance department. Rod has been awarded a Project Management Certification scholarship sponsored by the City of San Diego at the Purdue University Project Management Institute and is also a long time member of the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA).
In 2009 after numerous years of construction project management and construction consulting, Rod founded ACCENT Engineering and Construction Inc who’s reputation is being built on customer satisfaction derived from best valued quality service, efficient project management executed at a reasonable cost!
